Chinese smartphone manufacturer – Gionee has launched it’s flagship for 2016 at Mobile World Congress (MWC). The smartphone features a full metal body which looks sleek and appealing.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, and is powered by Mediatek octa-core Helio P10 chipset alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Camera wise, the smartphone features a 16MP sensor with PDAF accompanied by laser autofocus system. The whole smartphone is powered by 3000mAh battery with fast charge support.
One of the noticeable feature of Gionee’s S8 is that the smartphone has a Force Touch which is similar to iPhone 6s. As for now the feature works with Gionee’s own stock apps but Gionee has promised that they will increase it’s functionality in coming days by making it’s API developer friendly.
The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of Gionee’s own Amigo 3.2 UI, which will make it the first Gionee smartphone to run it. Taking a peek at another noticeable feature, the Gionee camera apps has been made simple for users which will let you quickly choose filters and shooting modes. The camera app also has a feature to add a video filters, as for now there are seven filters available. Another noticeable feature include “OCR”, which lets users to convert any scanned text to a documents.
As for the price, the Gionee S8 is priced at 449 Euro and is set to go on sale from the end of March. As for Nepal, users can also expect to see this smartphone at the price range of Nrs. 50,000-60,000.
