Sony has officially launched the X series of smartphone at MWC 2016. The X series of smartphone lineup includes the Xperia X, X Performance and XA.
Sony Xperia X
The Sony Xperia X features a 5-inch 1080p display, Sony didn’t launched any phablet or any mini series this time. We can see the major design change from Sony in this smartphone as Sony has changed it’s sleek glass back with a metal. The smartphone looks great as it has been painted with a tone-on-tone approach. The Xperia X is available in 4 color options including Graphite Black, Lime Gold, White and Rose Gold.
As claimed by Sony, the smartphone is totally future focused and is a major game changer in terms of camera department. The smartphone features Predictive Hybrid Autofocus by Sony’s own camera department engineers, which lets users pick their target and track it as quickly as possible. As the camera has 23MP sensor, user can launch the app and click a photo in just 0.6 seconds. Whereas there is an impressive 13MP sensor for selfie.
Sony has also promised that the Xperia X will have a great battery life, even though it only has 2,620mAH battery the smartphone is claimed to provide 2 days of usage time through a single charge, thanks to Sony’s advance battery management feature. Other great feature of Xperia X is that it is integrated with a stereo speakers outside and a Hi-Res Audio and DNC inside the phone, this can be a treat for music lovers out there.
Coming to the hardware, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 chipset alongside a 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is intended to bring the great features alongside it. The phone has also a fingerprint reader on it’s power button.
Sony Xperia X Performance
The Xperia X Performance is targeted for power users who uses their smartphone mostly for heavy gaming and multi tasking. Although we didn’t expected to see a high end smartphone smartphone from Sony at MWC but nonetheless the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, which is expected to provide a great performance.
The smartphone features a 5-inch 1080p display and has a metal back with a continuous color. Whereas in terms of camera, the smartphone features 23MP sensor like that of Xperia X as well a 13MP selfie camera. Of course users can shoot 4K videos with this and can also boost up the ISO up to 12,800. Unlike two smartphones, the Xperia X Performance is waterproof and IP68 certified, which is always a welcome feature. The smartphone also features a fingerprint scanner on it’s power button like the Xperia X.
Sony Xperia XA
The two smartphones was for users who are seeking immense performance, the Xperia XA is for users who are seeking affordable smartphone. The Xperia XA features a 5-inch 720p display and is powered by MediaTek MT6755 chipset. The smartphone has 2GB of RAM alongside 16GB of storage.
Coming to the camera, the smartphone features a 13MP primary camera and a 8MP selfie camera. The Xperia XA doesn’t feature a fingerprint scanner as well as a stereo speakers. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by 2,300mAh battery.
