One of the most popular and used picture sharing platform – Instagram, which is owned by Facebook was recently hacked by a 10 year old guy in Finland. The boy was rewarded $10,000 for finding a bug on Facebook’s picture sharing app.
As stated in the report, the 10 year old guy named Jani (last name was not revealed) is youngest ever recipient of Facebook’s bug-bounty, which is paid to users who are able to find bugs in its platform. Facebook has paid huge amount of money to several other people through it’s “bug-bounty” program.
As stated in Iltalehti newspaper, Jani told “I wanted to see if Instagram’s comment field could stand malicious code. Turns out it couldn’t.” As claimed by Facebook, the bug was already fixed on February and the reward was handed to the boy on March.
Jani is still young to use the Facebook and Instagram but he said that he learned to code from YouTube videos and found an effective to way to delete comments from Instagram accounts. He also stated that he could have deleted any user’s comment, even Justin Bieber’s.
