Google released the final developer preview of Android 7.0 Nougat. At first, it seems that Google’s Easter egg was absent from the developer preview, but after playing the Android version menu for a while it seems that Google has something really interesting for us.
In case you are wondering about the Easter egg on Android, it’s a simple animation hidden inside every Android setting menu. Google introduced the first game in its Lollipop Easter egg which was a clone of Flappy Bird, later refined in Android Marshmallow as well.
Back in the days, you would normally tap in the Android version and get an Easter egg right away on the same screen, but this time tapping the “N” logo would bring you a cat emoji. Once you see the cat emoji, pull down your notification panel and tap Edit button which will bring you a new toggle button called as “???? Android Easter Egg.” Just drag it to your quick setting panel and have some fun.
After exiting from Edit screen, the toggle button with cat emoji will change into Empty Dish, just tap on it and you will be presented with a range of options to choose from – Bits, Fish, Chicken, and Treat. After you choose one, the treat will be scattered in quick setting tile. You can choose various food and put them in the right tile at the right time which will help you lure in your own Digital Cat. After catching your Cat, you can name it and add it to your Cat collection. The game is a familiar copy of a popular Japanese game called Neko Atsume.
It seems that Google’s Android Easter egg has come very far as well as seems more elaborative than we expected. And I think it won’t take long for Google to implement their own RPG game in the future version of Android Easter egg.
