After successful beta testing of MIUI 8 ROM, Xiaomi has officially pushed out MIUI 8 global stable ROM to its devices. As stated by the company, the update will be rolled out to 15 Xiaomi phones in the first phase, while other selective variants will be receiving the update in the second phase.
The phones that will be receiving the MIUI 8 in the first phase includes the flagship Mi 5, Redmi 4s, Mi Max, Mi Note, Redmi 2A, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 2, Mi 4, Mi 2/ 2s, Redmi 1s, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 4G, and the Redmi Note 3G. Whereas, the second phase list includes smartphones like the Mi 4C, Redmi Pro, Redmi 3S & 3X, Redmi 1S, and Redmi 2.
In case you’re wondering, the new MIUI 8 ROM will notice some visual overhaul, with notification drawer receiving the biggest change with features like the weather panel and color changing status bar. The new MIUI 8 ROM is now smarter than ever with support for dual apps and dual spaces which basically lets you have two same apps on your single phone, to make things clear, for example, with the help of dual app you can now run two Viber apps on a single phone, one for each SIM, while the dual spaces allow you have two accounts – each one can be customized separately with varieties of customization options and wallpapers.
The Caller ID on MIUI will also be receiving some tweaks, the Caller ID is now able to show popular business ID so that you can call them even if you haven’t saved their number on the phone, this function works in the messages too.
