One of the largest private telecommunication provider in Nepal – Ncell has got a green signal for rolling out the 4G service in Nepal. The company has been asked to present the roll out plan by Nepal Telecommunication Authority. As stated by Milan Sharma – the Corporate Communication Expert of Ncell, Nepal Telecommunication Authority has asked the company to present the action plan consisting required frequency, cost, and routine.
The recent gesture from the Telecommunication Authority has been taken in a positive way so it’s safe to say that Ncell is around the corner to roll out the 4G service in Nepal. Quite a while ago, there was a revision regarding the policy of radio frequency distribution and cost estimation which stated that the authority will distribute the 4G network in a neutral 1800 band technology.
The aforementioned policy allows each and every telecom providers to distribute 20MHz frequency to users based on the authorized band. Bearing all the policy and law in mind, the company has submitted the application for additional frequency and technology to the Authority.
Although Nepal Telecom has already got permission from the Telecom Authority to roll out its 4G service from coming Poush 17, it seems like Ncell won’t be late to join the race. While Ncell has already got some basic structures, the company has stated that they need to import some equipment as well as install the required software.
