Jyoti Group – the authorized distributor of Obi Worldphone has officially launched the Obi MV1 for the price of Rs. 15,699 in Nepal. However, online e-commerce site Sastodeal will be providing the smartphone at a discounted price of Rs. 15,610. Like it’s brother – Obi SF1, the highlight of the phone tends to be its unique design with a polycarbonate body.
The phone sports a so-called 5-inch HD (720 x 1290) sunlight display with a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 protection and Oleophobic coating (294ppi). Underneath, the smartphone packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212 quad-core chipset with a clock speed of 1.3GHz and Adreno 304 GPU. Coupled up with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage(expandable up to 64GB via microSD card) the phone is more than capable of handling day to day multitasking with simplicity. Inside, the new MV1 packs a decent 2,500mAh battery and runs on Cyanogen 12.1.1 OS with True Caller function out of the box. The phone, unfortunately, lacks a fingerprint scanner but overcomes the disadvantage with the DTS Audio capable of delivering an immersive sound experience.
Camera wise the device boasts an 8MP sensor at the back with f/2.2 aperture rate, Auto-Focus and LED flash. Up front, the phone comes with a 2MP sensor for selfies.
Connectivity option includes a dual-SIM with 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, and microUSB v2.0 for data exchanging. The new Obi MV1 can be purchased from any authorized distributor located across Nepal in three different color option including white, black, and red. While the white color option is available in the market right now the latter two will be distributed after 1 weeks. To remind you, users purchasing any Obi smartphones during this festive season will get a chance to win exciting prizes including a Honda Dio scooter.
