After a minimal number of rumors, Gionee has officially unveiled the Gionee s9 in China. The near to flagship smartphone is a successor to Gionee S8, launched in February, this year. The new phablet packs some impressive specs including the dual-camera at the back.
As for the specs, the phone sports a 5.5-inch Full-HD(1080×1920) LTPS display producing up to 500 nits of brightness. The 2.5D arc display of the phone is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hood, the phone comes with MediaTek’s Helio P10 chipset and Mali-T860 MP2 GPU. The phone is coupled up with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, expandable via microSD card slot.
The main highlight of the smartphone is none other than the dual-camera at the back. The dual-camera(13MP &5MP) cohesively works to produce a depth of field effects, while the front is handled by a 13MP sensor for selfies and video chats.
The whole phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of Amigo OS 3.5 and packs a modest 3,000mAh battery inside. The phone comes with a fingerprint scanner at the front and supports dual 4G VoLTE SIM. The new Gionee S9 is available for pre-orders from today, while the phone will go on sale from 25th of November for the price of CNY 2,499 ($364).
