Better late than never, Xiaomi has started to roll out the MIUI 8.1.1 update for the Redmi Note 3 global edition. The new update, based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow includes new feature addition, several changes, and bug fixes. Xiaomi as a brand is rapidly growing its business and product ranges but still lacks behind on providing timely software updates.
The now released Marshmallow update was basically rumored since the phone was released but lacked a lot. Users who were anxious to try the update had early access to beta version of Marshmallow, but the stable and final update was propelled back to the point where most of the Mi devices are already on the verge of receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update. We’re still unsure if the Redmi Note 3 will ever get the Nougat update, however, for those who were waiting for this OTA update can download it from their phone right now. In case you’re wondering, the update weighs in about 1.3GB, so be ready to clean your phone’s storage.
