Nokia has finally launched an Android smartphone dubbed as Nokia 6. The phone comes at a mid-range price point and offers a nice metal build, with added audio support for audiophiles.
To go into details, Nokia 6 has a 5.5 inch 1920×1080 Full HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass. It has an aluminum uni-body build providing “superior craftsmanship and design quality” in the words of Nokia. The phone comes with a 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage along with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. On the camera side, it has a 16MP main camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus and an 8MP front camera.
The company has also included dual amplifiers and Dolby Atmos support to deliver better audio performance. The phone has a 3000mAh non-removable battery and supports dual sim cards as well. Nokia 6 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat OS providing the user support for all the apps and games that come with the Android experience.
The Lumia series from Nokia and the phones with Windows OS was a disaster. Nokia 6 is the start of a new generation of Nokia phones which can jump start the Nokia brand to deliver much better smartphones. For now, Nokia 6 is the only phone from Nokia and looks great in this mid-tier segment. The hardware side is a bit under-powered, but the phone must be worth the money by the looks of it.
Unfortunately, HMD Global doesn’t have any plans to release Nokia 6 in the global market. The phone is priced at 1699 Yuan($245) and will be available only in China through JD.com.
