Gionee Mobiles has officially introduced its new mid-ranger, the Gionee F5 in China. As speculated, the handset features a metal uni-body, 2.5D curved glass and an exceptional price tag for budget-minded users.
Featuring a 5.3-inch HD IPS display, the phone rocks MediaTek’s MT6750 octa-core chipset and Mali T860MP2 GPU. Memory option includes 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with an option for microSD card expansion up to 128GB. There’s also a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button at the front, which can also be used for authenticating payments.
The Gionee F5 houses a 13MP camera at the back with LED flash accompanied by an 8MP sensor at the front for selfies and video chats. The phone still boots on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of Gionee’s Amigo UI and packs an impressive 4000mAh battery, which should last a day long considering its low-res display.
Connectivity option of the phone includes dual-SIM with 4G VoLTE support, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. The announcement about the availability of the phone outside China is yet to be made, while the phone will go on sale for CNY 1,799($260) in China.
