Samsung Mobile has officially unveiled its three new J series lineups, consisting J3, J5, and J7(2017). The budget-centric lineup comes with some significant upgrade to last year’s J series, while still leaving something to be desired. Let’s take a took at the three smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy J3
Samsung Galaxy J3 is the least expensive and powerful from the list and is a new addition to Samsung’s J moniker. The phone sports a 5-inch TFT HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels without any protection. Underneath, the phone is powered by an Exynos 7570 quad-core processor bearing a clock speed of 1.4GHz, while being accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of minimal internal storage — it’s expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot.
The handset boasts a 13MP camera at the back, whereas, up front, there’s a 5MP camera for selfies and video chats. The phone boots on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and packs a 2400mAh battery. The Galaxy J3 can be purchased for €220.
Samsung Galaxy J5(2017)
The second from the list, Galaxy J5(2017) sports a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED 720p display. Underneath sits Samsung’s own Exynos 7870 1.6GHz octa-core chipset, while RAM and storage are similar to the Galaxy J3 — i.e. 2GB and 16GB.
Camera wise, the handset sports a 13MP sensor at the back, while there’s a 5MP sensor at the front for selfies. The phone runs on an identical software and comes with a 3000mAh battery inside. There’s also an added advantage of a fingerprint scanner at the front which also dubs as a home button. The Galaxy J5(2017) will go on sale at the end of the month for €280.
Samsung Galaxy J7(2017)
Samsung Galaxy J7(2017) comes with identical features when compared to its counterpart[Galaxy J5], though it does resemble with the design of Galaxy S7. Some of the difference includes its Full-HD Super AMOLED display, 3GB of RAM and a 13MP sensor both at the front and back — there’s also a selfie flash. The phone is powered by a much powerful 3600mAh battery and can be charged via a USB Type-C port. The Galaxy J7(2017) will go on sale in early July with a price tag of €340.
