It has been a couple of months since Samsung showcased its new Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch in Nepal. Although smartwatches, as compared to smartphones, attract fewer consumers in Nepal, the appeal for such things never wears out. Despite being a non-smartwatch lover, I’m quite optimistic that the Gear S3 Frontier will lure in or build some new smartwatch lovers in Nepal.
The 46mm watch comes with a so-called Active Silicon wristband and a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED display(360 x 360 pixels), promising a standby time of up to 72 hours. The Always On display is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass SR+ — a new kind of protection solely made for smartwatches. While Samsung’s Galaxy lineup has been famous for rocking an overhauled Android software, the smartwatch, however, runs on Samsung’s very own Tizen OS. Underneath, the phone is powered by Exynos 7270 dual-core chipset, 768MB of odd RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
In case you’re wondering, the smartwatch is IP68 certified and can be submerged in 1.5-meter water for 30 minutes. The stainless steel watch comes with 4G LTE support allowing you to take calls directly from the watch, while there’s also Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi b/g/n, GPS, and NFC, which by the way can be used to pay your bills, courtesy of Samsung Pay. Samsung has also packed plethoras of sensors in the watch, including an accelerometer sensor, gyro, heart rate, and barometer. All these things are powered by an average 380mAh battery which can be charged wirelessly.
Samsung Gear S3 Frontier Price in Nepal
The aforementioned lavish spec and stuff definitely comes at a price. The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier can be purchased at Rs. 41,200(which is slight inexpensive than the official price) from SmartDoko. Although the price of the smartwatch is definitely high, for users who are looking to dive into such things and has enough spare of cash lying around should open-handedly grab the watch — you’ll definitely appreciate this piece of tech.
