Better late than never, Xiaomi is gearing up to release its MIUI software update on 26th of July alongside the new Mi 5X. The new UI is based on the latest Android Nougat and will grace most of the Xiaomi’s smartphones, including the Mi 2/2S.
Though I’ve never appreciated Xiaomi for its untimely software update, the list of the devices receiving the update has changed my view towards the Chinese giants. However, the recent news that has more likely caught me struck is that still 5 million users are actively using Xiaomi’s Mi 2/2S, which was launched four years ago(on April 2013). And I’m sure that this long awaited update will certainly please those fans.
In case you’re unknown about Xiaomi’s very first Mi 2/2S, the handset came with a durable built and a removable battery, which is still valued by most users across the globe. Alongside the device, Xiaomi has also published the long list of its remaining devices receiving the new MIUI 9 update.
The list includes Mi 6, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi 4, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, Mi 3, Mi Mix, Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Mi Note 2, Mi Note/ Pro, Mi Pad 1, Mi Pad 2, Redmi Note 4(SD), Redmi Note 4(MTK), Redmi Note 3(SD), Redmi Note 3(MTK), Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note, Redmi Pro, Redmi 4X, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 3S/Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2/ Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 1S, Redmi 1, and of course, Mi 2/2S.
