In an event namely Google for India, the company has announced the stable version of Android; Oreo 8.1 alongside an optimized version of it named as the Android Go.
Android Oreo 8.1 will be featured on devices like Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 5X without any sideloading or beta access starting from Dec 5, 2017. Previously on October 25, Android 8.1 Oreo was first launched for developers and now the stable version has rolled up after all bug fixes and optimization done.
Similarly, the Android Go, which is an optimized version of Oreo; designed especially for devices with RAM less than 1GB. The Android Go will utilize its own set of apps which will be available in Play Store, including YouTube Go, Gmail Go, and Google Maps Go. These apps are said to consume 50% less memory than usual.
However, users will have to wait a little bit more in order to experience the optimized version of Android on their devices.
