With power and price on its side, the robustly built smartphone doesn’t compromise on the premium factor either. Surrounded by a metal body, the Epic 1 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display further protected with a Gorilla Glass. Likewise, there’s a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core (ten-core) chipset paired up with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Although the phone is not up to the mark with other phone’s dual-cameras, the 16MP rear camera satisfactorily does its job. The rear sensor has f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash, while the fingerprint scanner below it comes with an impressive read time of 0.1 seconds. Up front, there’s an 8MP camera with a f/1.8 aperture for taking decent selfies even in a low-light situation.
For the software, the handset boots on Android 6.0 Marshmallow on top of InLife UI 2.0, while powering the phone is a decent 3,000mAh battery inside.
Despite being launched a while back ago, the InFocus Epic 1 is, no doubt, a true value for money smartphone. And with Foxconn directly involved in the manufacturing process of the phone, one should expect an uncompromising build quality.
