Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd has officially launched their new compact SUV — the TATA Nexon in Nepal. The Nexon is one of the many compact SUV manufactured by the Indian automobile giants TATA. They are entering the sub 4-meter market, where there is neck to neck competition going on between the Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
TATA Nexon looks very young among its competitors and has all elements set to attract the car enthusiast. The exteriors on Nexon are eye catchy with TATA already hitting to the next level with their previous launches. In the front, it gets projected headlamps with LED DRLs and below that the fog lamps are positioned very aggressively. There is a chrome accent on the front that TATA called it a “Humanity Line” and slots on the bonnets for aggressive touch.
The side profile also looks very good with Coupes like floating roofline and the white stripes highlighted on the shoulder lines and the roof rails. It also gets the 16-inch rims which are well matched with the way the car looks. In the back, it gets the LED tail lamps and the white stripe continues making the shape “X”. The ground clearance of the Nexon is 209mm which is fairly enough.
The interior looks quite spacious even though it is a compact SUV. TATA claims that they have intelligently designed the storage space like umbrella holder, cup holder, gloves box, and storage space behind the gear lever. The cabin is also very impressive, as it gets the all-new touchup which seems to be premium thanks to the three-toned colour dashboard. There’s a grand central control where 6.5-inch infotainment system (with Android Auto) is placed along with automatic climate control.
The a/c vents are also placed on the passenger seats. The interior is surrounded by 8 Harman speaker which sounds like a great deal for audio freaks. And it also gets the rear parking camera. The boot space is 350 litre; one of the biggest in its segment. Overall, the fit and finish look satisfying.
The Nexon is available in two variants; petrol and diesel. It is powered by 1.5L turbocharged 1496 cc diesel engine that offers with 110 HP @ 3750 RPM and there is also 1198 cc petrol plant that pumps out 110NM @ 5000RPM which are mated with the six-speed manual gearbox. What’s new with the Nexon is the three driving modes i.e. eco, city and sports modes which are first in its segment. It can be set according to the road condition and one preference. The average mileage one could get is 11kmpl.
There’s no doubt that the TATA Nexon is going to be one of the attractive compact SUV in the market. In fact, it could be the game changer as it has got the biggest boot space, more powerful engine, good infotainment system and the way it looks is surely going to make the road presence.
