Following the launch of M7 Power, Gionee is quick to take the wrap of the new S11 Lite in Nepal. While the phone is definitely not new, it might just offer something to the company’s lineup of smartphones in Nepal.
The S11 Lite’s display is akin to what the M7 Power has to offer; an eye candy 18:9 aspect ratio, though less big with 5.7-inch. Inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset paired up with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. While the low-end chipset might not be a fan favorite, it might do the justice to its quite okay-ish 3,030mAh battery inside.
Gionee’s phone has been lately known to produce quite well-lit images, all thanks to large sensors its phone has been packing with. And the S11 Lite is no different here — honestly, optics is the only positive thing this phone has to offer. The dual-camera setup at the rear comes with a pair of 13MP and 2MP sensors, whilst the front’s 16MP camera packs a similar prowess to what the rear has to offer.
The phone has Android 7.1 Nougat in it on top of Amigo UI 5.0. The shiny back has a fingerprint scanner capable of being programmed for shortcuts of users’ need.
The aforementioned specs are something a decent phone would provide at a decent price. However, that’s not the case here. The major downside of the Gionee S11 Lite is none other than its ridiculous price tag of Rs. 25,990. That’s a huge gamble taken by the company considering that there are lots of other great alternatives available in the market. There might be some space to cut some slack but that’s only to be expected when we get the hands on the device [and the phone does good]. For now, the phone’s price tag does no justice to the specs it carries, at least on paper.
