It’s official. Meizu has entered in Nepali market with three new smartphones, all thanks to Chaudhary Group, the new distributor of Meizu smartphones in Nepal. At initial phase, the Chinese manufacturer will compete against with their three smartphones, including the flagship Meizu Pro 7, M6, and M5. All these three handsets are targeted to users with different needs.
Meizu Pro 7
The first from the list, the Meizu Pro 7 is the flagship of the company. The phone comes with a distinguishable secondary display at the rear; a unique and first of its kind feature on a smartphone. The 2-inch rear AMOLED screen will work to display your unread notifications, a music player, and shall assist you while taking a selfie with your rear camera. The secondary display can also be customized with wallpapers as per your need.
As for the camera, the Meizu Pro 7 comes with the dual 12MP camera at the rear; the first one is a normal lens, whilst the latter is a monochrome sensor. Both sensors are implied with f/2.0 aperture rate,1.25 µm pixel size and PDAF. For selfies, there’s a 16MP front camera with a similar aperture. On top of that, thanks to the company’s own 4 in 1 algorithm, which automatically gets activated once you enter into a dark environment, offering you bright and clear images.
Shifting focus to the front, there’s a 5.2-inch Full-HD Super AMOLED display. And inside is the MediaTek Helio P25 chipset paired up with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Unfortunately, the phone misses out on a microSD card slot.
Alongside a powerful hardware, the phone edges over its competition through Cirrus Logic’s CS43130 Hi-Fi audio chipset for immersive audios. All these things are powered by a 3,000mAh battery which can be fast charged via USB Type-C connector. Booting the phone will be an Android 7.0 Nougat on top of Flyme OS 6.0.
Pricing of the phone is of Rs. 47,499 in Nepal. However, the availability of the phone across the nation is yet to revealed.

Meizu M6 is the mid-ranger with acceptable specs. The 5.2-inch display of the phone bears a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixel, while, underneath sits the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core chipset.
Optically, there’s a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and a dual-LED dual-tone flash. And at the front, the 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture will get your job done.
The whole phone drags the power from a 3,070mAh battery with fast charging capability, while it will run on Android 7.0 Nougat on top of Flyme OS 6.0. The phone will be available in two variants, including the 16/32GB of storage. The 2GB RAM/ 16GB ROM will set you for Rs. 18,199 and the 3GB RAM/ 32GB ROM is priced at Rs. 19,499 in Nepal.
Meizu M5s
The Meizu M5s is a meticulously built smartphone for users seeking budget alternatives. The phone sports 5.2-inch 720p display, MediaTek’s MT6753 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Camera wise, it comes with a similar 13MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and dual-LED dual-tone flash. Up front, the phone boasts a 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The battery of the phone is of 3,000mAh with fast charging support, whilst it runs on a bit dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Flyme OS 5.2 on top.
As for the pricing, the Meizu M5s will go on sale with a starting price of Rs. 18,799 in Nepal.
