This year’s E3 saw a lot of exciting gameplay and trailers. And to some extent — despite the expectations — Sony’s series of trailers and gameplay at E3 2018 caught most of the people’s attention as well. Let’s take a look at four exciting announcements by Sony at E3 2018.
The Last Of Us Part 2
The most awaited game of the year’s third trailer started off after a musical performance on banjo by the composer for both part 1 and 2 of the game.
The trailer begins with a cutscene where many people seem to be celebrating and dancing and Ellie with a friend watching a girl named Dina and talks about the friend’s event with her dad that day. Then Dina, who might be Ellie’s lover, comes by and takes Ellie onto the floor for a slow dance and kisses her and the camera shifts to Ellie piercing a man in the throat.
Thereafter, Ellie approaches by stealth to pass the enemies but after eliminating some enemies she eventually gets spotted and kills enemies using melee combat and a gun.
Furthermore, we can see enemy dropping weapons like knives when they die and apparently she can’t use them forever.
There is also a new element in the game where Ellie can hide underneath a truck. Later on, she shoots a woman in the face and runs into a store while being chased by a number of enemies. Ellie — avoiding being noticed — quickly crafts an explosive arrow and uses it. In the end, using a machete she had picked up she kills the last guy with a big swing at his neck.
At last, the trailer ends back at the cutscene.
The game is yet to have any release dates.
Ghost of Tsushima
Ghost of Tsushima, an impressive and heart whelming game is coming to PlayStation as an exclusive.
Sony E3 press conference showed an open world game Ghost of Tsushima which is set on the feudal era of Japan. This game is based on stealth to make it through the game and some of those require skills which the players develop during the game.
Ghost of Tsushima is based on a Mongolian invasion in an island of Tsushima in Japan. The scene starts on the ninth day of the invasion in a place called Otsuna Grasslands. The views of the lavish green fields were stunning. The character might be one of the last surviving samurais who is still fighting the enemies from the invasion.
The fighting mechanism is based on the traditional fighting skills and weaponry of that era. After finishing off some enemies, in the beginning, the samurai and his ally, whom he met during the fight, stealth kill two guards and sneaks inside the temple killing the remaining enemies.
In the end, as the tension grows the samurai and his ally enters into a duel and the scenery during the duel was majestic.
Spider-Man
A PS4 exclusive and a beloved franchise of Sony and Marvel is ready to hit stores on September 7, 2018.
The evolution of gameplay in this game is such that, it’s one of the fun and best Spidey games since the good old Spider-Man 2 [on PS2]. You can enjoy different web swinging abilities as well as the best combat system inspired by the arcade, beat-‘em-ups. As soon as you hold the controller, you get the vibe of being a superhero playing this game.
Furthermore, the new Spiderman trailer shows different villain including the well-known characters like Scorpion, Rhino and more.
While the trailer for the game looks quite promising, we still have to wait for sometimes to get the hands on the game before making any comments.
Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima’s Death stranding is a PS4 exclusive game. The game, with a strange setup, will be the first ever title launched by Kojima Productions. Unfortunately, like previously, the game didn’t get any release date.
The footage starts with the main character of the game Sam Bridges carrying heavy loads of boxes through a different harsh environment which he struggles to cross. These environments involve many mountains climbs, jungle-like places, crossing rivers, and so on.
Moreover, the character seems to be carrying the same synthetic womb inside which holds the baby. Along the way, he seems to try to save people taken as hostage from mysterious beings.
Also at the end of the trailer, we saw two new female characters whose roles are still yet to be discovered. The first female character showed in the trailer is played by Lea Seydoux who apparently seems to eat a live maggot at the end. The second female character is shown as a part of the games cast played by Lindsay Wagner. With Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen already part of the game, the inclusion of their character raises more questions.
Nonetheless — despite weird looking enemies [and a cute baby] — we are really pumped up for this game.
