Nubia, a sub-brand of ZTE has officially made its way to Nepal. And the company has debuted four new phones, including Nubia Z17 miniS, Z17 mini, M2 Lite, and N2. All these four smartphones will go on sale across the valley starting today.
Nubia Z17 miniS
The first and the most powerful from the list, the Nubia Z17 miniS is a mid-ranger from the company. It comes with decent specs that we would normally see on a mid-range device.
The phone’s covered with the 5.2-inch display that’s Full-HD in resolution. Despite the absence of a trendy bezel-less display, the handset’s got you covered with features like Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
At the helm of its heart is a powerful Snapdragon 653 octa-core chipset accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 64GB of ample internal storage. The internal storage, though, is non-expandable, but the storage at your disposable is mostly enough for light media storage.
Alongside a shiny and reflective glass back (that’s anti-fingerprint), there’s also an equally good camera. The dual-camera setup of the phone includes a 13MP + 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor. Out of two, the first one’s an RGB sensor, while the second is a Monochrome one. Likewise, both of the sensors consists of a f/2.2 lens, a quick hybrid autofocus, and capability of shooting 4K videos. And combine that with the company’s own NeoVision 7.0 image engine, you’re bound to get “DSLR-level photos”, as claimed.
The front consists of a dual-camera either. There’s a pair of 16MP (f/2.0) and 5MP (f/2.2) camera at the front for selfies. While the first one is a normal lens, the second will help in creating a depth of field for portrait shots with a blurred background. The wide-angle lens also comes with features like beauty mode and a screen-flash for bright and flawless selfies.
Rest assured, the phone runs on nubia UI 5.0 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. The battery is of 3,200mAh in size.

Nubia Z17 mini
Another phone from the Z-series, the Nubia Z17 mini has a slightly toned down specs and a bit bland yet durable design.
The Nubia Z17 mini has a 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 652 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Fortunately, this time the storage is expandable through microSD card.
Optically, the phone’s got a similar camera setup to that of Z17 miniS. A pair of dual 13MP Sony IMX258 sensor with f/2.2 lens and NeoVision 6.0 image engine for better processing of images. The front, though, sits out with the single 16MP sensor. The 80-degree wide-angle lens is capable of capturing selfies with blurred background, while the beauty mode could hide your facial flaws.
The whole phone is powered by a bit low 2,950mAh battery and an out-dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It’s the only downside of this phone.

It has a 13MP camera at the back with Sony CMOS sensor and f/2.2 aperture. Selfies are taken care of by a similar 16MP wide-angle camera with f/2.0 aperture.
