Tablets have certainly become a dying breed in the world full of phablets. But that won’t stop Samsung from producing it for people that still have compassion for Android tablets. And given the dominance of the iPad, the new Galaxy Tab S4 10.5 seems like a savior to the Android tablet market.
A beautiful screen and a minimal bezel are what makes the Tab S4 an appealing choice. Talking about the screen, it measures 10.5-inch in size with Samsung’s Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixel. Alongside a vivid display, entertainment junkies can get a taste of quad speakers tuned by AKG and support Dolby Atmos.
Interestingly enough, the tablet comes with S Pen out of the box. The S Pen’s fairly large in size which should allow more grip. While we are certainly friendly about the forte of S Pen on Note series, a fairly large screen of the tablet will probably allow users to use it as a sketch pad or kinda like a trackpad.
There’s also a support for Samsung DeX but with some new trick up its sleeves. The tablet can be connected through HDMI, without a need for a dock. The cool thing is that when connected it can also be used as a second screen, unlike old DeX which disabled the phone’s screen.
Likewise, unlike Samsung’s previous tablet launches — that came with entry-level specs — the Galaxy Tab S4 10.5 comes with flagship internals. Inside, the tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset — with 4GB of RAM — which should provide a fair share of power for using office applications like Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
The tablet also has pogo pins which can be used to connect peripherals like an external keyboard. The keyboard should come in handy while using Word. This doesn’t make it as a full-fledged laptop but the keyboard legitimately turns it into a Chromebook alternative.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 10.5 will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and will be powered by a decent 7,300mAh battery. The battery will be able to utilize Fast Charging support with a 15W charger provided in the box.
Pricing options of the tablet include $650 for the 64GB WiFi version and $750 for the WiFi variant as well. There’s also an LTE model that comes with a price tag of $880 approx for the 64GB one. It is expected to hit the stores starting from 24th of August.
