It looks like Xiaomi is dipping their toe into a new segment of the market: the Qin featurephones. Both phones are crowd funded with a pre-order totaling around CNY6.5 million.
The two handsets dubbed as the Qin 1 and 1s look aesthetically similar with a 2.8-inch display with 240 x 320 resolution and some unknown AI capabilities. Both phones do have a dual-SIM slot and surprisingly a USB Type-C port for charging. Another thing that surprised us most is the fact that both phones do not have camera whatsoever.
And yes, the phone does have some specs in it. Inside the Qin 1, there’s a MediaTek MT6260A chipset, 8MB of RAM, 16MB of storage, WiFi, and Bluetooth. As for Qin 1s, the phone is powered by a Spreadtrum SC9820 dual-core processor, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of storage, VoLTE, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Both phones are packed with a 1,480mAh battery while running on Nucleus OS on the Qin 1 and MOCOR5 OS on the 1s.
Weirdly enough, despite the specs different, both phones will go on sale for CNY 199 and will be available for pre-order starting September 15.
