Daraz is up for change. It’s not that they have not been good but with all the love and support that the customers have given, the company is now amped up for making the e-commerce space even better. In a Seller Summit organized by Daraz, they released the statistics of the app usage and sellers’ growth figures and are aiming to take a step further to make the platform even better, both for the sellers and the buyers as well — aiming to increase the number of average monthly users to 2.5 million by the year 2022.
In order to acquire the estimated figures, they are making huge investments in logistics, infrastructure, and warehouses that would be able to channelize the traffic quite well. Taking the feedback from users, Daraz is aiming to improve the delivery system as well and will be launching their own delivery system named Daraz Express which will ensure convenient as well as faster deliveries.
One of the major issues of shopping online is that oftentimes users experience a lack of sellers, and Daraz has set the numbers for e-sellers’ market to hike up to 25 million by the year 2022. In the past, while the vendors were ranked on the basis of the scorecard, this time around, AI implementation is a work in progress, which will categorize the vendors into good or bad based on the customer service they provide.
Some of these features are actually a work in progress and changes are to be seen in the interface of the app and website from 29th September onwards. “It will be a whole new system” as the company said. With more and more users being added to the e-shopping market day by day, there are still many of us who actually prefer the convenience of offline stores. To address this issue, Daraz will offer QR codes at the vendor shops for offline purchases as well. As far as the improvements to the platform are concerned, it is supposed to come with a messaging option as well.
And for offers, there will be flash sales on the occasion of Dashain and shortly after that, another flash sale will follow up on November 11th which could be named 11.11. There is supposed to be an inclusion of mobile top-ups option as well to make the purchases truly digital. Personalized Recommendations will be seen on the basis of our choices. Teaming up with Nabil Bank Ltd., there will be support for Debit Card payments as well. To promote and encourage the sellers, Nabil Bank will be providing their fast track SME loan service for the vendors endorsed at Daraz. There will be a center that will act as the heart to 12 hubs that will work in a network and will be hosting 250 employees designated for enhancing delivery services.
Let’s see what changes does that actually make, stay tuned for further updates.
