Khalti and Citizens Bank have signed MoU between them with a view to facilitating digital payments to its customers in Nepal.
The agreement took place on October 11, 2018, Thursday as the Chief Operating Officer of Citizens Bank, Mr. Paras Kumar Kafle and Khalti’s director, Mr. Amit Agrawal signed it. Also, the agreement was held in the presence of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Bank, Mr. Ganesh Raj Pokharel and Director of Khalti, Dhruba Adhikari.
This accord allows the customers of Citizens Bank to load their Khalti accounts through Citizens Smart Mobile Banking App and e-banking as well as pay for the purchase of goods services via Khalti.

Paras Kumar Kafle, who is the Chief Operating Officer of Citizens Bank said,” We are looking forward to technology to solve financial and banking problems of people where people can do everything using their mobile phone. With this tie-up, our customers can make their everyday payments from Khalti. Now, we feel we have headed one step closer to making transactions digital in Nepal.”
Similarly, Ganesh Raj Pokharel, who is the Deputy CEO of Citizens Bank shared, “I like technological innovation and the way it is simplifying people’s lives. We are very much excited to collaborate with Khalti to provide its seamless digital payment facility to all our customers.”
Also, Mr. Amit Agrawal said,” We are glad to sign MoU with Citizens Bank. Now, Citizens Bank customers need not withdraw cash to pay for goods and services. They can simply pay via Khalti. The initiative would help consumers go cashless in payments and facilitate hassle-free transactions.”
