The wait is finally over, Honor has officially entered in Nepali market. The much-awaited brand has taken the wrap off four new devices, including Honor 7A, 7s, 8X and Honor Play, in Nepal. Honor Smartphones, a sub-brand of Huawei, is mostly known for their feature-packed phones with reasonable price. And this forte has helped them create waves in the international market in recent days.
Thanks to Kratos Technologies Pvt.Ltd., Honor Mobile’s official distributors in Nepal, the handset can now be purchased through retailers located across the nation.
Regardless of that, the Honor lineup — launched in Nepal — has some great offerings, including the Honor Play with flagship grade processor. Let’s see what rest of them offers for their prices.

Honor 7s
The Honor 7s is the cheapest phone in this list. While the specs are definitely not a game changer in this price segment, it’s still a decent device. The phone has a trendy 18:9 display that measures 5.45-inches but has a skimped 720p display. Although the HD display is ok for most of the part, the MediaTek MT6739 processor is something users might grind their teeth upon.
The RAM is 2GB and the storage is just 16GB, but that’s expandable up to 256GB. While most of the budget phones are hogging their rear with dual-cameras, the 7s still comes with a single 13MP camera at the back; though, it does support PDAF. The front is nothing impressive either with just 5MP camera and an LED flash.
The Honor 7s can be purchased for Rs. 15,490 in Nepal.

Honor 7A
This is the one I would personally pick if I was looking for an entry-level phone. The Honor 7A comes with what the Honor 7s is dearly missing, a bit powerful chipset, under 20,000. The Honor 7A has a bigger 5.7-inch 18:9 display but with a similar 1440 x 720-pixel resolution.
Internally, the 7A is substituted with a Snapdragon 430 chipset, instead of the MediaTek on the 7s. The processor is paired with a similar configuration to the 7s — 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
The rear is where changes can be seen; it has a dual-camera. There’s a duo of a 13+2MP camera. The first one is a normal camera with f/2.2 lens and supports PDAF, while the second is a depth sensor used to create a bokeh effect. The front also has an upgraded 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 lens.
Powering the device is a low capacity 3,000mAh battery(20mAh low than the 7s) but it still can do the job considering the low-res display the phone has.
The Honor 7A will go on sale starting at a price of Rs. 18,490 in Nepal. That’s 3,000 more than the Honor 7s but the powerful chipset alone is worth the money.

Honor 8X
The Honor 8X is no doubt a flashy phone out of the bunch, full credit to its glass back. However, it’s just not limited to that but also has a beautiful 19.5:9 display with a 1080p resolution. The IPS LCD display is 6.5-inch and has a protective layer of Gorilla Glass 3.
Just above it is a notch that houses a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The single-camera has a 26mm wide-angle lens for capturing selfies with more group of people. The back is no slouch either, it has a pair of 20MP+2MP dual-camera. Out of the two, the first one is a normal 27mm wide-angle camera with an f/1.8 lens and PDAF, whilst the latter is used for depth sensing. All these sensors are baked with Huawei’s own AI technology for scene detections plus a Super Night Shot feature.
Pushing all the power from the helm of its heart is a Kirin 710 chipset based on 12nm technology. The octa-core chipset is accompanied with either 64GB or 128GB storage and 4GB of RAM. Nonetheless, both storage variants are expandable via microSD card up to 400GB. Remember that it does have GPU Turbo Technology as well, also seen on Huawei devices.
The Honor 8X runs on Android 8.1 Oreo on top of EMUI 8.2 and has a decent 3,750mAh battery, though it doesn’t support fast charging. There are other features like a fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Pricing for the Honor 8X starts at Rs. 32,490 for 4/64GB variant and Rs. 36,490 for 4/128GB variant.

Honor Play
The last one from the list, the Honor Play is definitely a phone to look out for intense performance. The Honor Play is one of the few devices to come with a flagship-grade processor under this price range — i.e. Rs. 42,490. Talking about the processor, the device has a Kirin 970 chipset seen on devices like Huawei P20 Pro. Built on 10nm technology, the 970 is powerful as well as a power efficient chipset at the same time. And with GPU Turbo technology, playing graphics intensive games like PUBG and Asphalt won’t be an issue here.
Turning our focus to the front, there’s a 6.3-inch 1080p display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. While rest of the specs are intact to the 8X, the LCD display is missing a protective layer here. Just above, there’s a notch as usual. The notch this time has a 16MP f/2.0 front camera. The rear has a rather low dual 16MP camera with f/2.2 lens and PDAF and 2MP, f/2.4 lens used for measuring depth.
The Honor Play is quite different from the most recent flagship in terms of aesthetics. The phone has an aluminum back, which also host a fingerprint scanner.
As discussed above, inside, it has the Kirin 970 chipset that’s coupled up with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable. The battery is similar to the 8X: 3750mAh, but this time it charges through a Type-C port and supports fast charging through an 18W power adapter.
