Lenovo’s new Z5 Pro GT has been launched in an event held in China. And the device certainly packs a punch. Surprising all of its users, the handset turned out to be different than what it was expected; it’s the first ever phone to come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset and a whopping 12GB of RAM.
The specs of the phone, especially the 12GB RAM, proves that sky’s the limit. The ‘GT’ moniker is known as a popular way to highlight supercars, and the Z5 Pro unquestionably mimics the look of it. Alongside a powerful spec sheet, to give a racing vibe, Lenovo has designed the phone with a glass back that has a carbon look and a red color finish at the rim, camera and the slider of the phone.
To talk about the camera, the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT has a dual camera at the back that has 16MP+24MP sensors. The front is hidden underneath a slider, when slid up, highlights a pair of 16MP+8MP duos for selfies. The slider can also be slid down, which offers an edge-to-edge 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that also has an in-display fingerprint scanner underneath it. Powering the phone is a 3,350mAh battery and Android 9.0 Pie OS on top of ZUI 10.
Pricing wise, the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT comes in three different variants: the 6+128GB is priced at 2,698 yuan ($390), the 8+256GB has a price tag of 3,398 yuan ($500) and the powerful 12+512GB variant is priced reasonably at 4,398 yuan ($650). The phone will go up for pre-order starting January 15, whilst the launch is expected on 24th of January. No news about the phone launching outside China.
