Twenty-nineteen has begun and Huawei is set to dominate the smartphone market yet again. And the new Y7 Pro (2019) is one of the few launches in Huawei’s arsenal. The device looks similar to Huawei’s P Smart (2019) but varies in the internals.
The Y7 Pro (2019) has a 6.26-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution. Inside it’s powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset rather than the Kirin one. Keeping the low-res display aside, this new phone has a 19:9 aspect ratio solely achieved through the waterdrop notch at the top. The RAM 3GB only and the storage is 32GB with an option for expansion.
As usual, the back hosts a dual-camera; the first being the 13MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and the latter is a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the notch is cramped with a 16MP sensor that should capture at least decent images.
One thing you will be missing is the fingerprint scanner, instead, Huawei has implemented a pretty basic facial unlock feature that should still get the job done. While not being a deal-breaker, the absence of the fingerprint scanner could be signaling us Huawei’s approach to their upcoming launches; they could just completely ditch the fingerprint scanner and go down the facial unlocking route in future.
The Huawei Y7 Pro (2019) is currently available in Vietnam for VND 3,990,000 or NRs. 19,500 approx. Although there’s no word about the phone’s availability in Nepal, we can expect it to see within a month or two.
