Pioneer Moto Corp, the authorized dealer of the Nissan car in Nepal has launched the new compact SUV — Nissan Kicks — in the market. The vehicle is now available in both petrol and diesel variant with a base price of Rs. 47.99 lakh.
The new Kicks looks promising as it boasts aggressive and appealing aesthetics. The strong sporty line going around the body, while the bold stance, body cladding, floating roofline makes the car look lively and strong in terms of exterior design. Upfront, there’s an LED projector headlamp with DRLs which explains the body design. And the bold Nissan Signature V-motion grills further enhance the look of the car. On the rear it gets the new boomerang shaped LED tail lamps that go very well with the overall design of the car.
The car sits boldly on the 17-inch 5-spoke alloy cut wheel with a ground clearance of 210mm. The Nissan Kicks measures 4384mm in overall length, 1813mm in width, 1656mm in height with roof rails and 2673mm in wheelbase, making it longer, wider, and taller. It offers 400L of boot space.
The interior gets the dual tone treatment making the SUV premium in this segment. It gets dual tone leather dashboard, leather seats, and carbon fiber inserted in some parts. There’s 8-inch floating infotainment screen in the middle of the dashboard giving it the distinct look which Nissan calls the “Gliding Wing” layout. It comes with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. The SUV also comes with automatic climate control which comes as standard. In the back, it also houses a/c vents for the passenger. Apart from that, 360-degree camera, Eco driving mode, ABS with EBD, four airbags, cruise control, hill start assist, auto LED projector lamps, and digital speedometer comes as standard.
Under the hood, the Nissan Kicks drives on a 1.5-liter petrol engine that pumps out 106 BHP of power along with 142 Nm of peak torque. Whereas, the diesel variant is powered by a 1.5-liter diesel engine which pumps out 110BHP of power and 240NM peak torque mated with 6-speed manual transmission which is standard on both the variant. There’s no automatic transmission offered as for now.
The Nissan Kicks will be competing against the like of Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Renault Duster. The company also launched Terrano in Nepal last year.
