Xiaomi has unveiled its latest Android Go offering, the Redmi Go, in Nepal. The Redmi Go is a basic phone that runs on Android Go platform, based on Android 8.1 Oreo, with Go Apps. The Go Apps have been optimized to such extent that it takes minimal storage and data usage.
Talking about the specs of the Redmi Go, it has a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixel. The aspect ratio is nothing fancy (it’s 16:9) but it should get the job done. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 425 processor accompanied by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of basic storage.
While on the one hand, the storage seems really low to today’s standard, on the other, the Android Go platform tones down the storage usage, thanks to the optimized Go Apps. On top of that, you get the option for expansion via microSD card. There’s also support for dual SIM.
Optically, the phone has an average 8MP rear camera with LED flash. The front has a 5MP camera for selfies. There’s a decent 3,000mAh battery pumping the juice which should last a day-long usage.
Redmi Go Price and Availability
Xiaomi Redmi Go will be available in black and blue color option and the Redmi Go price in Nepal is Rs. 8,999. The Android Go phone will go on sale starting 3rd March through offline stores and Daraz Online Shopping.
