Finally, Huawei has taken the wrap off its new budget smartphone, the Huawei Y7 Pro 2019. Being a predecessor to last years Y7 Pro 2018, the feature-packed budget smartphone comes with some additions, including a wide dewdrop display, an elegant design, and AI cameras.
All these features are something we had been seeing on smartphones from Huawei. But this time the company has gone on to put it in a phone that cost a little less.
Let’s talk about the crown jewel of this phone — the cameras. At the front, the phone has a 16MP AI-featured selfie camera for capturing perfect images with automatic retouching. There’s also a facial recognition feature that utilizes the front camera, which should come in handy since the phone doesn’t have any fingerprint scanner.
The rear’s no slouch either. The glaring back of the phone has a dual-camera setup of 13MP (f/1.8) + 2MP depth sensor. Thanks to the f/1.8 aperture, the normal camera is able to capture images in dark lighting conditions as well. And thanks to the AI, this budget phone is capable of recognizing 500+ scenes with 22 labels in real time.
For internals, the device gets the Snapdragon 450 octa-core chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The internal storage is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.
All these things run on a huge 4,000mAh battery that goes well with Huawei’s own AI power saving technology. No fast charging here though.
