As expected, Oppo Reno and Reno 10x zoom are making their way to Europe soon. While in China, both phones were already unveiled a couple of weeks ago and the vanilla Reno(the non 10x zoom version) is on sales there.
The Oppo Reno 10x zoom has a 6.6-inch OLED display with a unique shark fin pop-up selfie camera that hides 16MP sensor, thus obviously no notch. The phone carries a periscope zoom lens on the rear side along with the wide and ultra-wide cameras. You get optical image stabilization in both the periscope and the wide camera. Similarly, the telephoto camera offers 6x optical and 10x hybrid zoom. And the ultra-wide camera offers 0.6x zoom.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with Color OS 6.0 (Android 9 Pie based) on top. Regarding availability, the one with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage will be offered.
About the Oppo Reno — the non 10x zoom version — it carries a 6.4-inch OLED display, also with a shark fin pop-up selfie camera. But there are no periscope and ultra-wide cameras on the phone. Instead, there’s a 48MP camera that doesn’t have the OIS and a 5MP lens to help in bokeh and night photography.
The normal Reno is powered by the Snapdragon 710 processor. And the variants of both 6/128GB and 8/256GB will be made available.
Also, what we see is that Oppo Reno 10x zoom has more to offer than just the Reno model. You get more processing power as compared to the normal Reno model along with features like dual-frequency GPS and Audio Focus that makes the use of multiple microphones to keep video and audio in sync while zooming in.
About the similarity, both the Reno and Reno 10x zoom feature the in-display fingerprint readers, stereo speakers, and VOOC 3.0 charging but there are Dolby Audio and a bit larger battery in the later one. The vanilla Reno has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which can’t be seen in the premium model.
Again, there’s also the Reno 5G model which might be the first 5G to be made available in Europe. Reno 5G offers 10x zoom and the company has partnered with Swisscom, EE, SingTel, Telstra, and Optus to launch on the global scale.
Finally, about pricing, the normal Reno will start at €500 and will be available in France, The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Poland on May 10. Similarly, the Oppo Reno 5G is priced at €900 and will also get launched in May. While the 4G version — Oppo Reno 10x zoom will be unveiled in the early June.
The Oppo Reno 10x zoom and the Reno 5G comes with International Warranty Service, excluding vanilla or normal Reno.
