Chinese mobile payment app — WeChat and Alipay wants to enter in Nepal for legal business. Counselor for Finance and Commerce at Chinese Embassy in Nepal, Jang Fang said so in the press conference on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Nepalese Government had just put a ban on both WeChat and Alipay to do business in Nepal for tax provision issues. And its major impact is seen on Chinese tourists who come to visit in Nepal.
On the other hand, Counselor Jang Fang said that the app companies should be allowed to enter in Nepal to do legal business as both the apps play a great role as tourism infrastructures.
Nepal receives a great number of Chinese tourists every year. Addressing the same fact, Mrs. Fang asked for the initiation to request concerned officers of Nepal to withdraw the ban on both the apps. “Not doing so, might affect in the number of tourists entering in Nepal”, says Mrs.Fang.
Finally, She also clarified that they are clear about legal matters in Nepal after the companies enter it. She also added that the Nepalese authorities should focus on developing mobile payment apps and services in Nepal.
