The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) in collaboration with Wheels Truely Yours Pvt. Ltd. is implementing the ‘Smart Parking System’ in New Road from coming Thursday dated 30th May 2019.
Similarly, the smart parking system will be implemented in five other nearby areas of New Road that include the area behind Rameshwor Sweets, in front of Bishal Bazar, on the way to Indra Chowk road, Dharmapath, Pako, and in front of RB Complex. And, there’s free parking facility up to 6th June for people, within the system.
People need to use the mobile application to know the availability of parking spaces in real-time and book accordingly, while booking can only be done 15 minutes prior to the actual parking time. However, it can also be done in the parking place itself by checking the available spaces via LED screens installed in different locations.
About the parking cost, it’s Rs. 25/hour for two-wheelers and Rs. 60/hour for four-wheelers. And, a total of 55 parking attendants have been hired for parking management.
Android users can use this app by downloading and installing Park Ktm application via Google Play Store but iOS users will have to wait a bit to be able to use the app.
