Samsung Galaxy A2 Core is now available for purchase in Nepal. The entry-level phone runs on Android Go and is one of the cheapest Samsung phones you can get out there.
Previous A-series devices, including Galaxy A50 and A70, were pretty fancy but this one’s on the contrary. The phone, as the price tag suggests, looks cheap on paper but basic features like Exynos 7870 chipset, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage is still reasonable for a device running on Android Go.
The good thing is that the Exynos 7870 chipset is still a modest chipset also seen on devices like Galaxy M10, and Galaxy J7 Pro so this one will definitely flourish on such a light OS. Plus you get an option for expansion via microSD card up to 512GB. That is just insane.
Aesthetically, the A2 Core won’t win any design awards and with that vile Samsung logo at the front, the phone looks less appealing. But that’s okay given the price point (which we’ll talk about later). The IPS LCD screen measures 5-inch in size and bears a qHD resolution (540 x 960 pixel). The camera is nothing sort of surprising either; just a single 5MP sensor at the back and front side.
The Samsung Galaxy A2 Core supports 4G LTE and has a decent 2,600mAh; decent because the qHD screen and the light OS won’t be hogging down the battery.
Samsung Galaxy A2 Core Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A2 Core can be purchased for Rs. 9,390 through retailers located across the nation. While the phone may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it could serve a purpose for those who are looking for a decent backup device or for people looking to dive on to this OS.
Of course, there are like-to-like alternatives like the Redmi Go from Xiaomi but this one gets a pass from us since it has a more powerful chipset and double the internal storage of the Redmi Go. Although you do get a better res screen and bigger battery on the Redmi Go, in today’s day to day need the storage and chipset play a major role for most users.
