Vivo Apex is here in Nepal. Vivo showcased its concept phone for 2019 in Nepal in a media launch event today. But the sad part is that it’s not coming to the consumer market anytime soon. However, it is clearly a device to start looking at how the future of smartphones can be. So let us take a tour of the device for you.
What’s so special about the Vivo Apex?
Everything looks soothing and smooth while holding the phone. The phone doesn’t have any buttons and ports. So, there’re capacitive buttons on the right side of the device for the power button and volume rocker. Even the camera is behind the glass back, giving a complete uniform look to the phone.
Similarly, a technology similar to ‘MagSafe’ is used to charge the device that makes the use of the magnetic clip at the back.
What goes on the display?
The front display has neither the notch nor the pop-up motor for the selfie camera, speaker, or any other sensors. In fact, being a concept phone, it doesn’t carry a selfie camera at all. So, the front of the phone is a complete display except for a tiny chin at the bottom but it’s barely noticeable, thus no obstruction while consuming the media at all.
Similarly, the whole display of the phone acts as a fingerprint sensor. As there’s no speaker on the phone, the screen itself helps sound gets produced from the device through vibration — more like the bone conduction technology seen on many other devices.
The Vivo Apex is powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor paired with a 12GB of RAM. It also supports 5G.
The phone in its full glory looks absolutely gorgeous and it’s unfortunate that it won’t be reaching onto the hands of enthusiasts. But again, it’s a concept phone and we’ll really have to wait till the final usable product comes out to see how the device will turn into.
