After leaks and rumors, Meizu’s new phone, the Meizu 16Xs is official with decent internals, cameras, and a wallet-friendly price tag. The company announced the smartphone in China, while there have been some rumors about it coming to Nepal as well.
Putting those rumors aside, the Meizu 16Xs is pretty impressive, at least for a mid-range smartphone. It offers a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display seen on devices from Samsung, while the 1080p panel offers an immersive looking front, thanks to minimal bezels. Underneath the vivid panel is an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Internally, the phone rocks a Snapdragon 675 chipset that goes well with 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. For a mid-range device, these specs are acceptable.
Coming right back to the camera, the Meizu 16Xs catches up with the trend of triple-camera configuration: 48MP + 8MP + 5MP. The normal 48MP camera has f/1.7 aperture, the 8MP wide-angle sensor has an f/2.2 lens, while the remaining 5MP depth sensor is there to improve portrait shots. Selfies are taken care of by a 16MP f/2.2 lens at the front.
Powering all these internals is an impressive 4,000mAh battery with mCharge 18W charge support for faster charging. The device boots on Android 9 Pie on top of Flyme OS 7.3 out of the box.
As for the price, the 6/64GB variant is priced at CNY 1,698( ($245), whereas the 6/128GB variant is priced at CNY 1,998 ($289). The pricing is quite impressive for a phone that offers specs like triple-cameras and an under display fingerprint scanner.
