Even though smartphone manufacturers are unable to find the solution for long-lasting batteries, the fast charging technology has seemingly mitigated the problem. We all know OnePlus’ 30W Dash Charge, Huawei’s 40W fast charge, and OPPO’s stupendous 50W SuperVOOC flash charge; they all pushed the envelope in terms of charging tech.
But the new 120W Super FlashCharge technology from Vivo blows its competitors out of the water. As ridiculous as it sounds, the company claims that the FlashCharge can charge 50% of 4,000mAh battery in just 5 minutes, while the full charge of 100% can be achieved in just 13 minutes.
Vivo is expected to showcase its new fast-charging technology in upcoming MWC Shanghai 2019 alongside its 5G phone, which won’t be a modification of an already existing device.
Although the 120W fast-charging technology sounds exciting, it needs to be polished really well before it hits the market, as we all know that fast-charging produces a lot of heat which could be a caveat for a device’s thermal limitation. But it’s good to know that we are really near of a breakthrough in the charging technology.
