Alcatel makes its debut in Nepal, launching a range of smartphones and feature phones. The smartphone category includes four new models — Alcatel 1, Alcatel 1S, Alcatel 3X, Alcatel 3 (3+32GB), and Alcatel 3 (4+64GB). Similarly, the feature phones are Alcatel 2053D, Alcatel 2003D, Alcatel 1066D. Alcatel is offering a 1-year warranty on each of its devices while the 6-month warranty on its accessories.
SHTC International Pvt. Ltd. that has been a leading distributor for the import and distribution of ICT products and electronics in Nepal is the authorized distributor for Alcatel.
Mr. Amit Agrawal, who is the Managing Director of SHTC said on the launch, “We are very optimistic about the new launches in the burgeoning domestic mobile market. We are certain that Alcatel smartphones, known for their superior user experience, contemporary designs will be well accepted with the customers because of their great quality and excellent services.”
Furthermore, he said that all the Alcatel smartphones carry powerful batteries, high-pixel cameras, and excellent quality. Currently, Alcatel, TCL Communication operates its sales in more than 160 countries of the world.
On the launch, the Regional Director for TCT Communication Technology Holding Limited for India Region, Mr. Bharadwaj Pudippedi stated, “Nepal is our priority destination and we are planning to cater to the emerging market with a wide range of latest smartphones and feature phones.” Regarding the prices, Pudippedi added, “All our products are competitively priced to ensure that the best quality and the latest global technology is made available at affordable prices.”
Now, let’s take a brief overlook over each of the devices launched in Nepal by Alcatel in both the smartphones and feature phones segment.
Alcatel 1
Alcatel 1 carries a full view 18:9 display, a premium aesthetic, and photo-editing tools, and is available in much affordable price of Rs. 8,249 in Nepal. The build is subtly luminous and holds brushed metallic finish looks that seems pretty impressive.
As for the camera, it features an 8MP rear camera with flash and a 5MP sensor on the front. The device runs Android Oreo (Go Edition).

Alcatel 1S
Priced at Rs. 14,799 in Nepal, the Alcatel 1S has pretty nice features on offer. It has a 5.5-inch full view display with 81% screen-to-body ratio. Similarly, it carries a 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM for storage. Alcatel 1S is powered by an octa-core processor and runs on Android 9 Pie.
As for the camera, the phone offers a dual-camera set-up on the rear side: 16MP + 2MP aided with a large aperture that lets more light into the sensor. Yet another good addition seems to be the Google Lens in Alcatel 1S that lets you see and interact with the world around you.
Again, the device comes with a translucent soft case for better protection and grip. Finally, you are also getting the smart lock features that include a fingerprint sensor as well as face unlock.

In the camera department, there’s a 120-degree super-wide angle dual 16MP+8MP rear camera setup. So, expect pretty good photography via this phone.
The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat. The phone carries a price tag of Rs. 14,799 in Nepal.

Alcatel 3 comprises a 5.9-inch HD+ 19.5:9 Super Full View display with a tiny notch. The build consists of a silky smooth 2.5D glass, a metallic frame, and a gleaming dual-tone gradient shine casing, in shades of blue-purple and black-blue gradient.
As for the memory, you get a 3GB RAM + 32GB onboard storage. On the camera side, there’s a 16MP+ 5MP dual camera set-up on the rear side of the phone. And you’ll be able to create the animated version of yourself and use the AR feature with the facial recognition technology, used in Alcatel 3.
The phone runs on Android 9 Pie OS that is said to specially designed for all AI-driven tasks, and few of the interesting features include an adaptive battery, adaptive brightness that aids AI power for a truly initiative experience. It uses a 3,500mAh battery.

Alcatel 1066D
Alcatel 1066D is available for Rs. 1,910 only in Nepal. The phone carries a 1.8-inch TFT screen with 65K color display that reproduces dynamic colors on the screen. It weighs 63 grams and is easy to hold and carry on hands.
Regarding color, Alcatel 1066D is available in Volcano Black and Warm White colors. Similarly, for a premium look, it’s given a sleek resin finish.

It carries a VGA camera with a flash on the back that is able to record videos and play it back @25fps. Similarly, it sports a 10.3mm super-slim body with an enhanced grip that looks compact and classy too.
You can store your favorite music, videos, and files on a microSD card slot, with the device offering a 32GB memory expansion option.
Alcatel 2003D comes with a 970mAh battery that offers 7 hours of talk time and 206 hours of standby time. It’s priced at Rs. 2,475 in Nepal.
Alcatel 2053D
Alcatel 2053D comes with a class clamshell foldable design and accommodates a large keypad, making it easy for you to type messages as well as dial numbers.
