Nokia’s stillness has come to an end as the company has launched the Nokia 2.2 and 3.2 in Nepal; both being budget smartphones with standard specs and price.
Nokia 2.2
Nokia 2.2 is an upgrade to last year’s Nokia 2.1 which came with fairly ok hardware for the price. The phone builds on its predecessor’s legacy with a bigger 5.71-inch LCD screen with a larger 19:9 aspect ratio and an Always-on function.
Inwards, this time, instead of a Snapdragon SoC the device comes with MediaTek’s Helio A22 chipset which is built on 12nm technology. Supporting the memory side of thing is 2GB/16GB or 3GB/32GB storage configuration.
For the camera, the rear has a basic 13MP sensor with an f/2.2 lens and AutoFocus, while the front has a 5MP selfie snapper which sits inside the teardrop notch up top. There’s no fingerprint scanner though.
The phone runs on Android 9 Pie with stock UI and being an Android One phone the phone is guaranteed for the potential Android Q upgrade.
Pricing starts at Rs. 11,490 for the base variant, whereas the 3GB/32GB will cost Rs. 13,490 in Nepal.

Nokia 3.2
Just like its sibling, the Nokia 3.2 is also an iterative upgrade to last year’s Nokia 3.1, which had an outdated look. This time the company mostly upgrades its design language with a teardrop notch, a larger aspect ratio, and a shiny new back.
As opposed to last year’s 5.2-inch display on Nokia 3.1, this one’s got a much bigger 6.26-inch display which looks way nice. And add to the fact that the bezels are no more there with a 19:9 aspect ratio.
Internals are also fairly good; a Snapdragon 429 chipset, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. This should be enough for users with a minimal task to perform. Obviously, you can’t run PUBG on this device but the stock Android is a boon for keeping those performances mostly intact even after a couple of years. And there’s always an assurance of latest and greatest updates from Google.
The optics are fairly similar to the Nokia 2.2; you get a single 13MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, whilst the front has just an average 5MP camera which sits inside the notch. The battery, on the other hand, is much bigger; i.e. 4,000mAh and it also has a fingerprint scanner at the back.
As for the pricing, the Nokia 3.2 can be purchased for Rs. 16,490 in Nepal.
