Ramro Motors has confirmed that they’ll be launching Audi’s first electric SUV, the Audi e-tron in Nepal soon which will be exclusively available through Ramro Motor’s showroom. This will mark the prestigious German brand Audi’s debut in the Nepalese market.
The Audi e-tron will be unveiled in the Nepalese market this month, most probably at the NADA Auto Show with a price tag of Rs. 1.75 Crores, making it the most luxurious and expensive electric vehicle in Nepal.
The Audi e-tron is a battery-powered crossover based on Audi’s modified Q5 platform packed with cutting edge technology and it looks like conventional SUVs as it exhibits exterior styling similar to its corporate siblings.
Underneath the solid-looking e-tron is a 95.0-kWh lithium-ion liquid-cooled battery pack that powers two electric motors, one at the front axle and the other at the rear that churns out maximum power of 403 bhp and 664 Nm of torque quick enough to take the e-tron from 0-60 in just 5.5 sec and electronically limited maximum speed of 200kmph. On a full charge, the e-tron provides maximum range of 328km. It can be charged from 0-80 in thirty minutes.
Upfront, it gets the signature single-frame Audi grill which is functional. Unlike other EVs, it gets cooling function rather than a plastic panel. It also gets the Audi’s Matrix LED headlamps with additional of four LED lines which give a signature look for the e-tron.
The side profile looks well-built with the tapered roofline, thick lines and arches, and body cladding. What’s new is that the Audi has given optional virtual interior mirrors rather than a side mirror. It stands tall with 21-inch wheels. On the rear, it gets LED tail lights with unique horizontal line design and animating light display give the e-tron a distinctive impact.
Its dashboard is packed with multiple high-resolution screens that include Audi’s Virtual Cockpit and two flush-mounted touch screens in the center of the dash focused towards the driver side. The upper one is the 10.1-inch screen for the infotainment which comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. In addition, it gets Amazon’s voice assistant Alexa for the voice control system. Whereas, the bottom one houses the controls the climate.
The traditional gear lever is replaced by the gear toggle/shift that changes the gear and park electronically. Apart from that, it gets extra high definition screen on the doors that display the rear view from the side-mounted virtual mirrors offering a futuristic look. And it also gets rear a/c vents which can be adjusted through the touch screen. Besides that, it gets the leather upholstery with heating, ventilation and massage feature.
It is 4901 mm long, 1935 mm wide and 1616 mm high. With a wheelbase of 2928mm, the Audi e-tron can easily be adjusted for five passengers. The total boot capacity is 660 liters and weight at 2490kg.
The Audi e-tron offers the full range of driver assistance system. The rear cross-traffic and intersection assist along with pre-sense 360 can detect the surrounding traffic and brake the vehicle to help avoid a collision. An array of cameras and sensors support the rear available semi-autonomous drive mode such as adaptive cruise control and self-parking assist. Apart from that, it also produces the imitation of engine sound when slowed down or in reverse.
