Besides unveiling their own operating system, Huawei Developer Conference 2019 also saw the announcement of Huawei’s upcoming EMUI 10 which is based on Android Q, the new version of Android. The EMUI 10 will offer system-wide dark mode, revamped UI, increase in performance as well as various other features.
Talking about the design aspect, unlike the previous version, the EMUI 10 will come with more rounded icons and new animations, giving it a pleasing aesthetic. There will also be a system-wide dark mode which, once enabled, will extend to third-party apps as well. In addition to that, it also gets the Always-On display option, whilst the clock and calendar app gets more styles.
On the other hand, the performance of the EMUI 10 will increase the responsiveness, courtesy of EROFS file system and GPU Turbo 3.0 offering faster interactions and less latency while switching between the apps.
The EMUI 10 will also get a new feature called Multi-screen collaboration which allows you to connect to your PCs and mirror your phone directly on the computer screen. This will let you access your phone’s files and seamlessly respond to messages or transfer files.
Another one is Huawei’s HiCar app (don’t get confused with the HiCare app). The app will let you connect to your car’s infotainment system and control music, navigation, and even AC, given your car supports it.
As per Huawei, the Mate 30 series will be the first to ship with EMUI 10, while users with P30 and P30 Pro can also expect it to roll out sooner than expected.
