Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of the Mahindra vehicle in Nepal has unveiled the all-new XUV300 at NADA Auto Show. The new Mahindra XUV300 is based on the SsangYong compact SUV, the Tivoli as it shares the same platform.
Having the XUV300 in its fleet, Mahindra will fill the gap in between the TUV 300 and the XUV500. Pricing of the vehicle starts from Rs. 39,75,000 and goes all the way up to Rs. 57,25,000 in Nepal.
One look at the XUV and it appeals for you without a doubt but it does not look like the one from the Mahindra. However, it gets the Mahindra badge and some characteristics borrowed from its bigger sibling. It now gets the chrome studded grille inspired from the new-gen XUV500; gone is the standard Tivoli headlamps and the LED DRLS as it gets the new double-barrel LED headlamps and vertical LED DRLs stretched down to the fog lamp which is again inspired from the XUV500.

The interior of the new XUV seems to be standard and straightforward. The dashboard gets dual tone treatment. There’s a 7-inch touch screen infotainment in the center which comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and it gets the new digital instrument cluster.
What makes the XUV300 ahead of its competitors — Vitara Brezza, EcoSport, and the TATA Nexon — is its feature list. The XUV 300 offers first-in-segment features like Dual-zone Fully Automatic Climate Control & Front Parking Sensors, seven airbags, four disk brakes, ABS with EBD, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), Hill Assist, front parking sensor, auto-dimming IRVM, 17-inch alloy wheels, tire pressure monitoring system, and sunroof. And, features like Airbags, ABS, Disc Brakes, six Speed Transmission, LED tail lamps, and power window will be standard across all variants. What it misses out is the rear a/c vents and the booth space it offers is just approx 260l.
Mahindra XUV300 comes in both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel engine is the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder unit borrowed from the Marazzo which produces 115 bhp at 3750 rpm and 300 Nm of peak torque between 1500 – 2500 rpm. The petrol engine is a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbocharged unit which churns out 110 bhp at 5000 rpm and 200 Nm of peak torque between 2000 – 3500 rpm. Both engines are mated with a six-speed gearbox. And there’s no automatic version offered as for now.
The young XUV is available in a total of four variants: W4, W6, W8 and W8 (O) and six color schemes with dual-tone options as well.
