OnePlus’ “T” moniker gets a new member today with a huge line of improvements — OnePlus 7T. From a fluid display to a faster chipset, the phone carries, in fact, the most significant upgrades in OnePlus’ “T” lineup’s history.
To start with the major change — the camera, the OnePlus 7T has a triple-camera setup. The first embraces a 48MP Sony IMX586 like before but has a little brighter aperture of f/1.6 over f/1.7, going with the likes of OnePlus 7 Pro. Another addition is a 12MP 2X telephoto lens which is an upgrade over the 7 Pro with 8MP sensor with 3X optical zoom. However, unlike the Pro variant, this one doesn’t have an OIS.
The third one, which is an ultra-wide shooter sport a 16MP sensor with 117-degree field-of-view, matching the 7 Pro. Similarly, it also supports Nightscape mode as before but also gets two new features, i.e. the macro mode which shoots images from 2.5cm away and a 960fps slow-mo mode at 720p.
On the other hand, the regular display also gets an upgrade to a 90Hz screen which OnePlus likes to call Fluid AMOLED display. The screen measures 6.55-inch diagonally and has an aspect ratio of 20:5, making it slightly taller than the OnePlus 7. The teardrop notch, though, remains small as usual. It also happens to hold a 16MP selfie camera which is unchanged as well.
Besides that snappy frame rates, the phone’s display also supports HDR10+ for enjoying your multimedia content with a wide range of colors. The resolution, however, remains 1080p as opposed to the Pro’s QHD. But that doesn’t mean it’s not impressive, as the 7T can reach up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, which is impressively high over the Pro’s 800 nits.
Another feature that will probably go unnoticed is the “T” in the Warp Charge 30T, which the phone supports. The single T signals that it’s 23% faster than prior 30W Warp Charge.
Now talking about the internals, the OnePlus 7T gets the new Snapdragon 855+ chipset which is slightly powerful than the normal one. Likewise, the RAM also gets a boost from 6GB of OnePlus 7 to 8GB. And there are two storage variants: 128GB or 256GB, both of which is UFS 3.0.
The OnePlus 7T will also be one of the first devices to ship with Android 10. Starting from 28th of September, the phone will go on sale at first in India for a price of INR 38,000 for the 128GB storage and INR 40,000 for the 256GB storage.
