The Vivo NEX 3 has been officially launched. The flagship from Vivo comes with 5G support, powerful internals, and an intriguing display.
Besides powerful internals and aesthetics, the phone has also a three-camera at the back; the main being a 64MP sensor. This makes the NEX 3 the first flagship to have Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 Sensor — first two being the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Realme XT; two midrangers. The main sensor is accompanied by a 13MP wide-angle sensor and a 13MP telephoto lens.
The Vivo NEX 3 is no doubt a head-turner for sure, but the display makes it’s overall aesthetic a thing to crave for even more. Vivo likes to call it a Waterfall FullView Display. It’s a Super AMOLED panel and has a mouth-watering 99.6% screen-to-body ratio, as per Vivo. This extreme number is achievable, thanks to the thoroughly curved edges of the screen at 90-degrees.
With such extreme curves, the phone sees no side buttons, thus Vivo has opted for Touch Sense, which mimics the touch of clicky buttons through a “more exquisite vibration feedback in various use cases”, as per Vivo. Likewise, it also offers a feature called X-Axis Haptic for more comfortable vibration useful for games, typing, and other use cases.
As for selfies, Vivo has gone with the route of their X27 Pro phone, i.e. a whole pop-up module, which features a 16MP sensor. The selfie camera also gets a new feature called Portrait Master’s Hyper XDR which increases the dynamic range accuracy among users’ face and the background’s brightest spots.
Now talking about the internal, the Vivo NEX 3 is powerful. It has the Snapdragon 855 Plus, first in a non-gaming phone, either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. There’s also a huge 4,500mAh battery with an impressive 45W fast charging.
Pricing of the phone will start at CNY 4,998 (approx $707) for the 8/128GB variant with 4G support, while the 5G one will cost CNY 5,698 (approx $810). The most powerful one with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage will set you back CNY 6,198, i.e. $877 approximately.
