Apple’s new AirPods with Active Noise Cancelation and hands-free access to Siri. We are talking about the new Apple AirPods Pro. The company has added silicone ear tips that provide a better seal to its AirPods Pro, necessary in noise-canceling earbuds which was also tipped in iOS 13 beta.
Apple acclaims that the new AirPods Pro brings sound quality with the Adaptive EQ feature. The tool allows automatic tuning of frequencies (low and mid-range) suitable to the ears of each individual. Similarly, the AirPods Pro comprises an onboard amplifier, claiming a pure and clear sound along with a battery life extension. And inside it is the drivers that can produce bass down to 20Hz to round out the immersive audio quality.
To determine the right size tip for your ear, Apple has built-in an Ear Tip Fit Test [in iOS] to examine the seal for each of your ear.
As mentioned before, it comes with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), for which it implements two microphones on each earbud along with software to constantly adapt the ANC level to the ears. One microphone keeps tabs on each earbud whereas the other one faces inward and picks up any additional sound that may remain. The company acclaims that the set-up constantly analyzes the sound 200 times per second. You can put the AirPods Pro’s ANC to the test at the gym as well, as it’s IPX4-rated true wireless ones that can hold up just fine to sweat during workouts.
Again, the AirPods Pro comes with the transparency mode that allows you to hear stuff that is going around or have a quick conversation. You’ll be able to activate the transparency mode using a force sensor directly on the earbud itself. Apple uses the tech to provide onboard controls to the users thereby you can use it to play/pause, skip tracks or even answer your phone calls. While for the volume adjustment, you’ll need to reach out to your phone. But it has added a volume slider to Control Center and you can make use of the Apple Watch to bring the change.
Moreover, it is equipped with Apple’s H1 chip so that Siri is always listening. You might have already encountered the chip in earlier AirPods versions.
As for the battery, the company claims it to offer five hours of playback as previous AirPods models with ANC turned off. However, with the ANC turned on, the battery can last up to around 4.5 hours of listening and 3.5 of talk time. Also with the included charging case, you can get up to 24 hours total. And the case can be wirelessly charged using a Qi-certified mat.
The AirPods Pro is scheduled to get shipped on 30 October 2019 with a price tag of $249. It will be available on the Apple website as well as at its retail stores. In Nepal, the price may range anywhere from NPR 35,000 to NPR 40,000 or a little more.
