Vivo’s latest offering, the V17 Pro is now official in Nepal quickly after its launch in India on the 20th of September. The premium mid-ranger from Vivo offers a quad-camera at the back and a dual front-facing pop-up camera but is rather a bit disappointing in terms of internals.
Talking about the camera, more specifically the front. The V17 Pro has a wider pop-up module that houses a 32MP normal sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Thanks to the pop-up mechanism, the phone’s display is almost bezel-less. As for the display, it’s a Super AMOLED panel and measures 6.44-inch diagonally. Similarly, the display has support for DCI-P3 color gamut and a Full HD resolution. The in-display fingerprint scanner is also present.
As for the back, it’s where the phone’s crown jewel is. A vertically aligned quad-camera setup comprises of 48MP Sony IMX582 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with a 120-degree field of view, capable of shooting Macro shots, a 13MP 2x telephoto lens, and lastly a 2MP depth sensor. On paper, the camera spec of the phone is one of the best on mid-rangers.
Internally, the Vivo V17 Pro runs the task with a Snapdragon 675 SoC. It’s a bummer that the phone does not come with any powerful chipset, as 675 is found in the likes of V15 Pro. On the other hand, Vivo hasn’t skimped in terms of memory — the phone has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
