The long-awaited Mi CC9 Pro (globally known as Mi Note 10) is now official and it has to be one of the most ambitious phones Xiaomi has made, all thanks to the five rear cameras.
Let’s first talk about the crown jewel of the device — the five cameras. These cameras in conjunction with four LED flash works to create a behemoth of a camera phone. Out of five, the main one is an impressive 108MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, also seen on the likes of Mi Mix Alpha.
Xiaomi didn’t shy away from mentioning that the imposing camera sensor has an f/1.7 8P lens, which is the first of its kind in the world for a smartphone. Paired alongside the 1/1.33-inch sensor, the Mi CC9 Pro should produce eye-catching detailed shots both at broad daylight and low lighting conditions.
Alongside, there’s a telephoto lens that can capture images at up to 5x optical zoom and goes straight up to 50x digital zoom. Also, the third lens is an ultra-wide shooter that provides a 117-degree field of view, whilst at the bottom is a 2-10cm macro lens that can shoot macros from 1.5cm distance — the closest ever in a smartphone.
Finally, the fifth camera is for portrait shots but it shouldn’t be taken for granted as it comes with a rather impressive 12MP telephoto sensor with 2x zoom. The 50mm focal length of the camera offers the best perspective as well as bridges the gap between the primary lens and a 5x optical zoom lens with much less difference.
All the camera firepower is handled by the Snapdragon 730G chipset with an octa-core CPU which has two performance cores clocking in at 2.2GHz.
Besides that, the front also has an unprecedented 6.47-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone’s top-front gets a waterdrop notch which also happens to hold its 32MP selfie camera.
Powering the phone is a humongous 5,260mAh battery that makes use of its 30W PD fast-charging which is yet another impressive aspect of this phone — it charges the phone up to 58% is just 30-minutes and 100% in 65-minutes. However, the phone still boots on Android 9 Pie out of the box with MIUI 11 running on top.
The Mi CC9 Pro is available for pre-order starting today. For the price, the phone has three storage configurations: CNY2,799 ($400) for 6/128GB variant and CNY3,099 ($440) for the 8/256GB variant. And the third model, which is a Premium Edition, costs CNY3,499 ($500) with 8/256GB storage. The phone will be available in three color options, including Glacier White, Aurora Green, and Midnight Black.
