OPPO’s new Reno 3 5G series has been officially unveiled in China. The lineup includes Oppo Reno 3 5G and the pro variant — Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G.
Out of the two, the Reno 3 Pro 5G is somewhat the most exciting on the paper. And it is justified as it boasts a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED display. Similarly, the display offers a 90Hz refresh rate. Just at the top is a tiny punch-hole at the top center that houses the 32MP selfie shooter.
The Reno 3 Pro 5G gets its processing power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset paired with 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of onboard storage. It runs on Android 10 with ColorOS 7 skin on top.
About camera, the device flaunts a quad-camera setup at the back consisting of a 48MP IMX586 primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide shooter, a 13MP telephoto sensor, and finally a 2MP monochrome sensor.
The company asserts that the device can perform the 5x hybrid optical zoom. Hence, the telephoto sensor comes with 2x or 3x native zoom.
Powering the phone is a 4,025mAh cell with 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging support. And Oppo says the phone gets charged up to 50% in around 20 minutes and 100% in around an hour. Other features include a dual-mode 5G (NSA/SA), an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1.
About pricing, the price of Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G (8GB/128GB) starts at 3,999 yuan (~$571) while the 12GB/256GB variant comes with a starting price of 4,499 yuan (~$643).
Talking about the standard variant, i.e. the Oppo Reno 3 5G, it carries a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED display. Similarly, the display has an in-display fingerprint sensor embedded. Moreover, there’s a waterdrop notch on the top center of the screen housing a 32MP selfie shooter.
This standard variant gets powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chipset with four Cortex-A77 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores. The GPU, on the other hand, is Mali-G77. As per MediaTek, the chipset is “World’s fastest sub-6GHz 5G SoC” because it can go up to 4.7Gbps performance and supports the comprehensive range of networks from 2G to 5G.
About the cameras, the Reno 3 5G sports quad-camera setup at the back with a 64MP primary, an 8MP ultra-wide, monochrome sensor, depth lens.
The device also carries a 4,025mAh cell with 30W fast charging support and NFC.
About pricing, the Oppo Reno 3 comes with a starting price of 3,399 yuan (~$486) for the 8GB/128GB variant while the 12GB/128GB variant costs 3,699 yuan (~$528).
