Samsung subtly hinted its clamshell Galaxy Foldable phone during the start of 2019. Also, lately, we got to see some leaked pictures that supposedly look like a clamshell phone. And recent release rumors suggest that the new device could soon hit the table.
The Yonhap News outlet of Korea says that Samsung is launching its clamshell phone, which is likely to be the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 along with the Galaxy S11 series in the month of February 2020. Also, the Fold 2 could go for sale immediately after the event.
However, it’s yet to confirm if the release timeline affixes to the Korean market or the likes of the US and Europe too. Anyway, Yonhap states that Samsung is doing talks with all three mobile carriers in Korea in order to release the phone.
Moreover, sources suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 may go on sale with a mid-$1000 price tag. Whereas, Korea Herald acclaims that the price ranges to around $845. Currently, the original Samsung Galaxy Fold retail for around $2000.
Similarly, the company sounds much confident regarding the design aspect of the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 in contrast to the original Galaxy Fold. The Galaxy Fold encountered various display related issues when provided to the reviewers thus got delayed in a launch from April to September.
The Galaxy Fold 2 is also likely to sport an ultra-thin glass on the display for improved scratch resistance, meaning it could at least be better than the Galaxy Fold.
